Hakapiri mai, Hakatata mai! – Ngāpuhi Festival 2018 is coming to Whangārei!

By September 28, 2017Festival 2018

Tell all your friends, whānau, pets, neighbours, aunties, bros, cuzzies, metes and workmates to join us at Toll Stadium in Whangarei on Saturday 27 January 2018.

To celebrate the festival’s theme of ‘ko au te wai, ko te wai ko au / I am the water and the water is me’, make sure to bring your togs and towel to ride the giant waterslide!

They’ll be over 100 food, craft and information stalls, FREE rides for tamariki, and a new youth zone with heaps of fun and interactive games and activities.

And as for the music and entertainment, OMG, the lineup is epicly awesome! We’re excited that the award winning RnB and soul singer AARADHNA will be performing many of her old and new favourites. Everyone’s favourite roots reggae band PAUA will also be joining us in Whangarei, and the sweet melodies and humour of the MODERN MĀORI QUARTET will keep us entertained well into the evening.

We’ll be announcing other awesome entertainment on facebook over the coming weeks and months, so make sure your ‘notifications’ are turned on and also check out the festival website ngapuhifestival.com for more information.

NZ’s premier Iwi Arts Exhibition, Toi Ngāpuhi will be back, showcasing Ngāpuhi and Māori arts and artists. Entry to this world-class exhibition is FREE.

We’ll also be live video-streaming to the world and onto the giant LCD screen at festival. You might see yourself on TV!

Entry to festival is still FREE, so start telling all your mates and whānau, get them together for a road trip and come enjoy yourselves at Northland’s largest FREE music, arts and cultural festival!
